High school may be complex for most teens, but for sophomore Constance Davis, balancing band, choir and high school, she gets through it. Throughout the years, her schedule got more time-consuming and challenging.
“Back in middle school, when school wasn’t hard, it was easier for me to balance it all, but after high school started, it got harder and more time-consuming,” Davis said.
Band and choir take up a lot of her time and energy. From waking up early and staying late after school, she rarely has time for homework.
“When I get home, I’m tired and I don’t want to do my homework because it’s 9 p.m. and I’m just so exhausted,” Davis said.
It may look easy for Constance to do band, choir and school, but it can get to the point where it’s overwhelming.
“Yes, band and choir is fun, but it’s frustrating to not have time for me or family.” Davis said. I may look like I’m handling it all great, but deep down all I can think about is my weekly schedule and everything I have to do. It can be too much sometimes,”.
Band and choir are never too challenging for Constance no matter how hard they work her. She sticks with them like family.
“Band may be physically challenging and choir may be vocally challenging, but besides all their ups and downs, they have a sense of family that I just love to be a part of,” Davis said.
