September is a spectacular month for Apple users. For the past two years, Apple has announced new models of their flagship products, the iPhone, the Apple Watch and the Airpods. This year is no different, bringing the state-of-the-art iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch Series eight and much more.
Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, begins the event with a recap of Apple’s current devices and the special connection they have created between them.
“On their own, they are industry-leading,” Cook said. “Together, they provide a magical experience.”
Following Cook’s introduction is a short film showing testimonials on the Apple watch’s impact and its ability to save lives on the job, on vacation, or in a plane crash.
“It’s amazing how this tiny device has helped me in so many parts of my life,” Blind Triathlete Marcos Velazquez said.
Following the testimonials is the first announcement of the event, the new Apple Watch Series Eight. The Apple Watch Series Eight aluminum comes in Midnight, Starlight, Silver and Product (Red). In stainless steel, it comes in Silver, Gold and Graphite. The new watch has an edge-to-edge display, an electrocardiogram feature, low power mode, blood oxygen testing and advanced ovulation tracking with a better body temperature sensor. The new model starts with GPS at $399 and Cellular at $499 plus 3 months of Fitness+ for free.
“It has all the things you love about Apple Watch, plus even more,” Apple’s Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams said. “Series 8 is beautifully designed and packed with the most advanced sensors and technology.”

The Apple watch SE has many of the basic features of an Apple Watch, like fall detection and multisport workouts, at a more affordable price of $249 with GPS and $299 with Cellular.
“SE is a fantastic way to get started with the Apple Watch,” Williams said. “And this year, it gets even better.”
Besides the Apple Watch Series Eight and the Apple Watch SE, Apple unveiled their newest model in the Apple Watch Family, the Apple Watch Ultra. The Apple Watch Ultra’s designed to be sturdy and for the most rugged uses, with a larger aerospace-grade titanium body to protect the crystal screen, a digital crown with coarser groves for use while wearing gloves and a new action button for increased control of the watch at a click of a button.
“The most rugged and capable apple watch ever,” Williams said.
Not only is the exterior new but the hardware is too. Exclusive hardware upgrades to the Apple Watch Ultra include a second speaker, three microphones, non-optional Cellular, and the largest battery of any Apple Watch with up to 36 hours of use on a single charge. Along with increased hardware are Apple Watch Ultra’s exclusive Features like an improved GPS, a depth gauge and a new low-power workout mode cutting unnecessary background features for extended battery life.
“This is Apple Watch Ultra, a completely new design reimagined with extraordinary capabilities that expand how you can use Apple Watch,” Williams said.
After the showcase of The Apple Watch Ultra, Williams hands it back to Cook for the new Airpods Pro.
