“Stranger Things,” a mystery and science fiction show written, produced and directed by twin brothers Matt and Ross Duffer. The Duffer brothers cast young actors Caleb McLaughlin playing Lucas Sinclair, Finn Wolfhard playing Mike Wheeler, Millie Bobby Brown playing Eleven and Gaten Matarazzo playing Dustin Henderson for their first major roles. The series remained one of Netflix’s most prominent shows since its premiere on July 15, 2016.
Overall the show has a good beginning and middle but, in my opinion, the ending felt weak and rushed.
The story followed a group of kids who try to solve the mystery of their town, but it becomes an even bigger mystery than they imagined.
While the series opened in November 1983 in a town called Hawkins, Indiana, the fifth season opens in November 1987 where the four main characters Mike, Lucas, Will and Dustin.
The final season was released in three volumes over the course of five weeks. The first volume premiered on Nov. 26, 2025 with four episodes and, the second volume featured three episodes released on Dec. 25, 2025, and the final volume featured only finale episode on Dec. 31, 2025.
The finale season concluded the story of the Upside down as the protagonists attempted to stop the Hawkins curse once and for all.
The ending to Stranger Things felt like the Duffer brothers wrote it in the last second of filming the show. A thought that appeared to be supported by the writers themselves.
“We went into production without having a finished script for the finale,” Matt Duffer said in a behind-the-scene documentary. “That was scary because we wanted to get it right. It was the most important script of the season. One Last Adventure”.
The final season stirred anticipation from fans and viewers flooded Netflix servers twice in this season alone. Once after the first volume released and again after the finale. Fans crashed Netflix severs for the first time in the series after the release of volume 2, season four.
